Ag-Genius: Get Caught up on our Latest, Live Trivia Challenge

We deviated from our usual informative webinars to enjoy some lighthearted moments with our scientific community. This isn’t your typical talk about complex instruments or groundbreaking research; it’s a trivia session designed to entertain, educate, and challenge your knowledge about plant science and agriculture.

What was at Stake?

Beyond the bragging rights, participants had a chance to win some pretty big prizes ranging from $50-150! Whether you’re a seasoned researcher or new to the world of science, this trivia session is exciting to follow along.

Let’s Take a look at Our Winners.

In first place, we have Arjun Kafle.

Arjun is studying water stress physiology in vegetables at Texas Tech University. His background shined in this competition, especially when he took first place on the final question! Here is how he did:

He stood out in “Plant Physiology,” Arjun secured six correct answers out of eight. His expertise carried over into “Post-Harvest,” where he scored two out of three. Despite being tested in “New Research” and “Company History,” Arjun answered one question correctly in each category. This was enough to put him in first!

In second place, we have Jericha Hervey.

Although Jericha held first through almost the entire competition, due to an unexpected upset on the final question, she got knocked out of first place by three points! Here is how she did:

Matching Arjun’s performance in “Plant Physiology,” Jericha answered six of eight questions correctly. She truly shined in “Post-Harvest,” acing the category with a perfect three out of three. Though “New Research” and “Company History” proved challenging to everyone, Jericha showed she has a broad range of knowledge and a quick mind for answering trivia!

Our final prize winner in 3rd place is Tera Lewandowski.

Tera is a Senior Research Scientist at The Hawthorne Gardening Company.

Tera made her mark by answering four out of eight questions in “Plant Physiology” very fast and showed additional skill in “Agriculture Questions” by scoring two out of three. She demonstrated mastery in “Post-Harvest,” securing all three answers correctly. Tera also held their own in “Company History,” earning a correct answer in a section proven to stump contestants.
