Welcoming Our Interns, Part II

We are happy to welcome our newest interns to CID! Ben Klave is working with Jim Goecks and our Engineering department. He will be a senior at Camas High School and is part of the MST (Math Science Technology) Magnet program.

Ben Metcalf is a senior in college at University of Oregon and is working with our Marketing director, Michael Larman.

When asked to tell us a little bit about themselves and why they chose to intern at CID, here is what they said:

Ben Klave
 
My name is Ben Klave and I am going to be a Senior at Camas High School this upcoming year. At Camas High School I am part of the MST (Math Science Technology) Magnet program. My family moved to Camas from Ohio when I was two years old and I’ve lived here ever since. When my life isn’t completely being controlled by school I enjoy being outside and just hanging out with friends. I love going on hikes and I’m also a huge sports fan. Soccer is a major part of my life, between playing, coaching, reffing, and just watching games on TV. I took this summer internship for my senior project because it gives me a chance to learn about both science and engineering, two of my future areas of interest. I am currently working on finding an improved display for some of the CID instruments. I am not sure what all I will be working on this summer but I am open to try anything and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can.

Ben Metcalf

I am a senior undergraduate at the University of Oregon, and am studying Business Administration with a minor in Economics. When I am not working on new business ideas, you will find me at the basketball court pursuing my lost dream of playing in the NBA. My other interests include menswear, technology, and design. CID and Felix Instruments offered me a great working experience in the office, creating a marketing plan for the F-950. After learning about the applied food science industry, I am excited to be working here, and look forward to presenting my ideas.

We are so lucky to have an amazing crew of interns here at CID Bio-Science this summer, and we look forward to working with them over the next couple of months.
